Homeowners in Ramblewood East  :

Can take several steps to address alleged corruption and mismanagement within their condominium association:

  1. Document Everything:

  • Thoroughly document all instances of suspected mismanagement: This includes financial irregularities, questionable contracts, violations of the association's governing documents, and any actions that harm the community or individual homeowners. Keep records of all communication, including emails, letters, meeting minutes, and photographs.

  • Gather evidence: This may involve obtaining financial statements, reviewing contracts, and interviewing witnesses.

  1. Communicate with Other Homeowners:

  • Organize and mobilize: Form a resident's committee or group to investigate the issues, share information, and develop a strategy for addressing the problems.

  • Raise awareness: Inform other homeowners about the issues through newsletters, email blasts, community meetings, and social media.

  1. Utilize Available Resources:

  • Consult with an attorney specializing in condominium law: An attorney can advise you on your legal rights and options, such as filing a lawsuit against the association or its board members.

  • Contact the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR): The DBPR oversees condominium associations in Florida and can investigate complaints of mismanagement or fraud.

  • Report concerns to the Coral Springs Police Department: If you suspect criminal activity, such as embezzlement or fraud, report it to the police.

  1. Attend and Participate in Association Meetings:

  • Regularly attend board meetings: Ask questions, voice your concerns, and demand transparency and accountability from the board.

  • Run for a position on the board: If possible, run for a position on the board of directors to effect change from within.

  1. Explore Legal Options:

  • File a lawsuit: If necessary, file a lawsuit against the association or its board members to address the mismanagement and seek remedies such as financial restitution or removal of board members.

Important Notes:

  • Florida Condominium Act: Familiarize yourself with the Florida Condominium Act, which outlines the rights and responsibilities of condominium associations and homeowners.

  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date on any legal proceedings or investigations related to the alleged mismanagement.
